They came in 18 th out of 84 in the Curie Division, one of the four divisions which made up the over 300 teams competing in Atlanta. The team then competed at the FIRST Championships in Atlanta in mid-april and did quite well. This competition hosted sixty high school teams from eight states, including Hawaii, the District of Columbia, and three teams all the way from Great Britain. Lee 85 GMHS Robotics Team Wins Chesapeake Regional On Saturday, March 15, 2008, the George Mason High School robotics team won the 2008 Chesapeake regional competition for FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. By all accounts, his address was exciting and inspirational and was certainly the highlight of the evening.
